The Execution Stage is when we take all the planning and put it into action. In the context of legal practice, what does ‘execute’ even mean? Execution is doing our usual work as lawyers, in a lean way. This section isn’t about what legal work we should do, but about how to do our legal work. In other words, how can we apply the tenets of lean, which we’ve borrowed from the auto industry, to our work? There are three critical elements to applying lean to a legal project:

I) What Matters: First, look at what really matters. This will become continually clearer during the ongoing investigation which is, after all, what most of our work is. We have a component called Just What Matters in Lesson 5 in this module.
