Brooks R. Brown and Laura Brys of Goodwin Procter have stepped in as defense counsel to Rocket Mortgage LLC in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The action was filed July 26 in California Central District Court by the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund on behalf of Miguel Estrada Avila. The suit contends that Rocket Mortgage has a practice of imposing arbitrary additional requirements on financial product applicants who are not United States citizens, including DACA recipients such as the plaintiff. Tracy A. Armstrong of Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer has entered an appearance for LD Natural Care and Yakun Luan in a pending class action over alleged wage-and-hour violations. The case was filed July 25 in Massachusetts District Court by Decof, Mega & Quinn on behalf of Olga J. Rivera and Edward Rivera, who contends that he sustained injuries including swelling, headaches and hives from the defendant's Durepair™ Dura Regeneration Matrix device, which was recalled in June 2023.
