The case, filed Aug. 8 in Pennsylvania Eastern District Court by Swartz Culleton PC on behalf of John Soveral and Donna Soveral, claims that Donna sustained injuries after falling on grapes that were left on the floor. Randi F. Knepper of Stevens & Lee has entered an appearance for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in a pending ERISA lawsuit. The action, filed Aug. 8 in New York Southern District Court by the Sanders Law Group on behalf of All Surface Publishing, is brought in connection with the song 'I Feel Good' by recording artist Pitbull featuring DJWS and Anthony Watts. The complaint alleges that the song incorporates copyrighted elements of 'Samir’s Theme' by musician Debonair Samir and therefore constitutes an infringement of the plaintiff’s registered work. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil, is 1:24-cv-06039, All Surface Publishing, Inc. v. Universal Music Group et al.
Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan partner Stephen A Broome has entered an appearance for Snowflake, a cloud data platform, in a pending data breach class action. The action, filed Aug. 5 in California Central District Court by Francis Mailman Soumilas; Laukaitis Law; and Kohn, Swift & Graf, is part of a string of cases arising from a massive data breach targeting Snowflake and impacting customer data held by Ticketmaster and other significant Snowflake customers. Aetna Life Insurance Co. has retained attorney William B. Wahlheim Jr. of Maynard Nexsen PC to defend a pending ERISA lawsuit.
