Lawyers for the author E. Jean Carroll, whose defamation lawsuit resulted in an $83 million judgment against former President Donald Trump in January, on Thursday argued that Trump should not be granted an unsecured stay of enforcement of the judgment.

Carroll’s attorney Roberta Kaplan of Kaplan Hecker & Fink argued that Trump failed to provide the court with information about his personal assets, including how upcoming “developments in his life, including active criminal proceedings and his election campaign” will impact his financial standing.
