March saw a series of shakeups at prominent legal departments, from the sudden departure of longtime legal chiefs at eBay and Estee Lauder to big names in tech taking top lawyer roles at rising stars like Abnormal Security and mainstays like DXC Technologies.

The month began with a flurry of notable exits. EBay Chief Legal Officer Marie Oh Huber, who’d led the legal team since 2015, said she was leaving to explore other interests. EBay CEO Jamie Iannone didn’t give a reason for Huber’s exit, but it came on the heels of the company agreeing to pay $3 million to settle criminal charges that its employees in 2019 harassed a Massachusetts couple whose online newsletter had criticized the company. Huber was not implicated in the scandal, but it came on her watch.
