With law firms forced to make changes to their offices to keep lawyers and staff safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, those in the process of designing new spaces have a chance to rethink their plans.

"Flexibility is the key," said Ken Harry, a principal at Abel Design Group in Houston.

That's the case for Vinson & Elkins, which is planning out its new 212,000-square-foot Houston headquarters in the under-construction Texas Tower, and is also in the earlier stages of a move in Austin.
