During a unanimous floor vote before the New Jersey Senate Monday, 12 nominees to the Superior Court were confirmed, including several law firm partners, an administrative law judge, and a public defender, among others.

The confirmation of the nominees brought the total number of vacancies on the bench to 38, which is the lowest number of empty seats since 2019. The majority of the new judges are headed to Bergen and Passaic counties, which have experienced some the highest vacancies on the bench over the past few years. Bergen County gained six judges after Monday’s vote, while Passaic County gained four. The Mercer and Ocean County benches each gained one judge.
