A.Y. Strauss in Roseland announced that Marisa Rauchway joined as a partner and chair of the firm’s franchise group. Rauchway assists prospective franchisees, emerging concept franchisors, and current single- and multi-unit franchise operators on the purchase process, agreements, lease negotiations, multi-unit and area development expansion, and sales and transfers. She also advises clients on when business relationships may be a “hidden franchise” governed by the New Jersey Franchise Practices Act. “The firm’s leadership and focus on putting client relationships first are exactly in line with how I have practiced law my whole career, and I look forward to continuing to serve the needs of our clients together,” she said in a statement. Weinberg Kaplan Hires Family Law Counsel
Theodore (Ted) J. BakerTheodore (Ted) J. Baker of Moorestown joined family law firm Weinberg, Kaplan & Smith in Marlton as of counsel. Baker has been practicing law for more than 20 years and focuses on handling issues involving the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency (DCPP), adoptions, kinship legal guardianship, criminal defense and personal injury. Baker “has established himself as the go-to attorney for DCPP matters in New Jersey,” said Dawn Kaplan, co-founder and partner at Weinberg Kaplan, in a statement. The firm said Baker has handled litigation relating to abuse and neglect of children, termination of parental rights and grandparents’ rights, and administrative matters. He has also successfully represented clients in criminal cases, from homicide to municipal offenses, including child endangerment matters, the firm said. “Weinberg, Kaplan and Smith is well-known for providing their clients with high quality, personalized service,” Baker said.
