Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Thursday, one day after he was ordered to immediately pay a $148 million judgment in a defamation case filed by two Georgia election workers.
On the filing in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, Giuliani checked “no” when asked if his debts are primarily consumer or business debts. Asked what other form of debt he owes, he wrote “Lawsuits” and listed the plaintiffs in a wide array of pending cases.
