The Richard C. Failla LGBTQ Commission of the New York State Unified Court System presented Judge Adam Silvera, left, administrative judge, Civil Term, New York County, with the first Judge Paul G. Feinman Award on Thursday, June 23 under the rotunda at the Supreme Court in Manhattan. Judge Anthony Cannataro, associate judge, New York State Court of Appeals and co-chair of the Failla Commission, right, presented the award. Judge Feinman, the first openly gay judge to sit on the New York State Court of Appeals, passed away in March 2021 at age 61. The award was established to honor individuals who best exemplify his values and willingness to lift up members of the LGBTQ community in the courts and in the law.
