The spotlight of a wild political year may not have been on tech regulation, but that doesn’t mean there was a dearth of new rules governing attorneys and technologists alike. From shifting privacy and data transfer rules, to new technologies like the Internet of Things and quantum computers starting to see government attention, to old standbys like social media and payment transactions staying in the limelight, tech regulation by no means had a quiet year.
