The holidays are upon us, and while some may rejoice in more time off to spend with their families, certain studies show that this time of year can negatively affect some people’s mental health, which can add to end-of-year stressors experienced by many lawyers.

More than 30% of lawyers who responded to ALM Intelligence’s 2022 Mental Health and Substance Abuse Survey reported feeling depressed. Meanwhile, a separate survey conducted by the National Alliance on Mental Illness in 2014 reported that 64% of people with mental illness reported that the holidays tend to make their conditions worse.
