Rosalyn “Sia” Baker-Barnes was with her family when she received the call from the Florida Bar informing her that she was elected president-elect-designate, becoming the first African American woman to hold the position.

Baker-Barnes, a partner at Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley, said she is a huge sports fan, whose dad, a former state court judge, started taking her to National Football League games when she was a 1-year-old.
