In a recent decision, the Pennsylvania Superior Court appears, at first blush, to have begun defining the edges of its first-impression ruling from last year that said social media posts are inadmissible in criminal cases unless prosecutors can show who actually authored them. But defense counsel in the case said the appellate court actually missed out on a chance to address social media authentication head-on and instead answered a question that wasn't asked.
