After a federal district court in Pennsylvania struck a severe blow to President Donald Trump’s legal challenges seeking to overturn the results of the general election, the case is now on appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, with a lightning-fast briefing schedule set to end Tuesday afternoon.

The campaign’s legal team has said that its strategy is to swiftly get the matter up before the U.S. Supreme Court, with its conservative majority bolstered by three Trump-appointed justices. Keeping the case moving quickly would be to the Trump team’s advantage, the president’s lawyers have suggested, and so far they have been successful in achieving that goal.
