Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison this year has been quietly working to open an office in Houston, as it has been building a pipeline of infrastructure and energy deals, people with knowledge of the developments confirmed to The American Lawyer.

A Houston location would be the New York-born firm’s 10th globally. A source knowledgeable about the firm’s plans said Paul Weiss has approached lawyers at several of its Am Law 100 competitors—Baker Botts, Kirkland & Ellis, Latham & Watkins and Vinson & Elkins—about joining.
