As the senior paramedic for an emergency response team in Wilson County, Mike Gomez’s ambulance was the first on the scene at the First Baptist Church shooting in Sutherland Springs that resulted in the deaths of 25 people and one unborn infant.
Gomez, 47, has been a paramedic for 26 years. Even before the mass shooting Nov 5, 2017, Gomez suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, according to his complaint.
