Company Loses $271 Million Claim Over Wireless Patents
In the 1980s, Melbourne, Fla.-based Harris Corp. was awarded two patents for infrastructure equipment used in cellular phone systems. In 1995, Harris entered into a joint venture with MLMC Ltd., which went on to sue several other cell phone companies, charging they infringed on analog and digital patents.
