The National Hockey League's lawyers from Proskauer Rose and Skadden are working with a team of in-house attorneys in drafting the final terms of an agreement that will end a nearly four-month labor impasse. With a new collective bargaining deal in hand, Skadden; Stinson Morrison Hecker; Lewis and Roca; Hopkins & Carley; Fennemore Craig; and a Phoenix-based firm recently absorbed by Dickinson Wright are also advising on the proposed sale of the league's Phoenix Coyotes to an investor group.

Coudert's Local Leader Moves to Kirkpatrick

The head of Coudert Brothers' Bay Area operations has a new job at Kirkpatrick & Lockhart. Intellectual property litigation and employment law practitioner Jon Michaelson started work at Kirkpatrick's San Francisco office Saturday. Coudert of counsel Linda Usoz also made the jump to Kirkpatrick a few weeks ago. Michaelson and Usoz are the latest in a string of departures from Coudert since it closed its Silicon Valley office last fall.

Coudert's Bay Area Leader Moves to Kirkpatrick

Jon Michaelson, who once headed Coudert Brothers' Bay Area operations, is off to Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Nicholson Graham's San Francisco office. He's the most recent Coudert partner to leave the firm. Coudert's Bay Area partnership has shrunk for 20 a few years ago to just five now. Firmwide, Coudert has shrunk from 630 lawyers to 550 in the past two years.
