The four men on the boards of both Intermedia Communications and its subsidiary, Digex, did not follow a process calculated to satisfy a Delaware court when they agreed on Digex's behalf to sell Intermedia to WorldCom. Ban on Cameras in Court Ruled Unconstitutional in Diallo Case

In a watershed ruling recognizing a presumptive free speech right to televise court proceedings, the judge assigned to the trial of four police officers accused of murdering Amadou Diallo declared unconstitutional New York's 48-year-old ban on audio-visual coverage of trials. Justice Joseph C. Teresi held the law that has banned cameras and recording devices from the state's trial courtrooms since 1952 violates both the U.S. Constitution and the New York State Constitution.
