A federal jury last month awarded more than $2.3 million in actual and punitive damages to a Georgia man who claimed his former employer, Rayonier Inc., harassed him for testifying against the company in a contract dispute. John W. Odum claimed that the company and four superiors conspired to deter him from testifying and that after his testimony, his superiors threatened him with dismissal, urged him to quit and falsified negative evaluations. According to his suit, Odum suffered a nervous breakdown.
