Employment Law: Desperately Seeking Diversity

Although an effort to increase diversity at a law firm is a laudable purpose, law firms and legal recruiters must be careful about their criteria for hiring decisions. Both the legal recruiter and firm would be engaging in unlawful employment discrimination if search and hiring decisions are based on identifying and considering only candidates of a specific race or gender.
