In a stock deal valued at about $5.9 billion, Los Angeles-based Northrop Grumman Corp., the third-largest U.S. defense contractor, made an unsolicited bid last Friday for advanced technology product manufacturer TRW Inc., which is headquartered in Cleveland. Northrop is offering $47 per share worth of its own stock for all 126 million shares of TRW.
