Law firm litigation departments and corporate legal departments are recognized throughout the year for successes and failures alike. We the legal media endeavor to cover many of these singular happenings. But Legal and Litigation Departments of the Year, and the General Counsel Impact awards, are a different matter. It’s a distilling-down of an entire year’s worth of hard work and service. Not detailed here are the complications, the late nights, the headaches that went into each achievement. But we realize that no one achieves excellence without being tested.
This year we asked the winners to tackle what we hope were thought-provoking questionnaires about their approaches, philosophies and accomplishments. The honorees, in their own words, provide more and better insights than we could hope to provide ourselves, even with the benefit of interviews and lengthy submission forms.
