Up in Smoke—The marijuana legalization activist known as “NJ Weedman” won’t get to take his case to the highest court in the state, as the New Jersey Supreme Court has declined to grant certification in State of New Jersey v. Forchion.

The justices declined to review an Aug. 7, 2015, Appellate Division decision that had affirmed Edward Forchion’s 2010 conviction on a charge of fourth-degree possession of marijuana. He was sentenced to two years’ probation and fined $2,500 in addition to mandatory penalties.
