Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer has failed in a bid to force fellow New Jersey firm Sills Cummis & Gross to contribute to its share of nearly $2 million in special master and other fees stemming from a $215 million class action settlement.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Leda Wettre of the District of New Jersey on Oct. 8 denied a motion by Wilentz Goldman of Woodbridge to reallocate special master costs in the case, which settled in 2008 but was revisited more recently because of claims-administration problems.
