Profile: A majority of Wilson-Brito’s work centers around The Prudential Foundation, the social investment arm of The Prudential Insurance Company of America, including representing the foundation in several loans to various Newark charter schools and acting as lead partner on several other matters. The Rockefeller Group, which is a client of McCarter & English, recently retained the firm to represent it in the U.S. Attorney’s investigation of the Hoboken mayor’s allegations that the governor’s office withheld Sandy relief aid from the city, as Wilson-Brito was experienced in both companies. A big reason why McCarter & English was retained was due to Wilson-Brito’s experiences. She is also a member of Commercial Women of Real Estate of N.J., Inc., a nonprofit organization to help create and promote opportunities for women in the commercial real estate business. For pro-bono work, Wilson-Brito was part of a three-attorney team that represented 14 families who were devastated by Superstorm Sandy, helping them launch and manage a project to build a development of storm-resistant, eco-friendly, modular homes in Union Beach. Wilson-Brito, on behalf of the families, negotiated the construction contracts with the contractors and manufacturers that were responsible for the homes, as a result the families now have homes again.
