To the Editor:

I believe that your editorial "Stop Aid to Egypt?" in the Sept. 9 issue was misguided, basing its foundation and thought process on what most of us are used to — a Western-civilization sense of equity and justice. While it may rankle many as to how the military in Egypt is handling (or created?) the current situation, we have to put that in context with the alternatives. When that is done, the only fair and reasonable conclusion is that (virtually) any action taken by the military in response to the religious zealots that would otherwise rule the country is justified.
