Social Justice Panel Focuses on Brennan Legacy

The New Jersey Institute for Social Justice held a panel on July 12 exploring the jurisprudence of N.J. and U.S. Supreme Court Justice William Brennan Jr. The panel, at the New Jersey Historical Society in Newark, featured N.J. Supreme Court Justice Anne Patterson, former Chief Justice James Zazzali and former Justice James Coleman Jr. Douglas Eakeley, a partner with Lowenstein Sandler in Roseland, moderated. The event was part of the institute’s Summer of Social Justice Panel Series.

IP Association Awards Medal to Garrett Brown

The New Jersey Intellectual Property Law Association awarded its 2012 Jefferson Medal to Garrett Brown Jr., shown, retired chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, on June 8 at The Hilton at in Short Hills. Brown recently joined JAMS after 26 years as a federal judge, the last six as chief judge.

Paone Installed as Matrimonial Lawyers President

John Paone Jr., shown, a partner at Paone, Zaleski & Brown in Woodbridge and Red Bank, was installed as president of the New Jersey chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers on June 9 at the Cedar Hill Country Club in Livingston. Paone is chairman of the New Jersey Supreme Court Board on Attorney Certification and a member of the first class of certified matrimonial law attorneys in the state.
