A truck driver who suffered neck and back injuries when his tractor-trailer was rear-ended received a $1.8 million settlement in his Hudson County suit, Mendoza v. Schiavone Construction, on July 13.

Carlos Mendoza of West New York, then 37, had stopped for a disabled vehicle while operating his tractor-trailer on southbound Routes 1 & 9 in Jersey City on July 29, 2017, when he was hit from behind by a boom truck owned by Schiavone Construction and operated by Michael Scalley.
