When COVID-19 put an extra strain on resources for helping former inmates return to the community, some New Jersey defense lawyers decided to launch a fundraiser, and ask their colleagues to donate.

John Azzarello and Christopher Adams, both past presidents of the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey, are seeking to raise $10,000 to aid New Jersey Reentry Corp. in its support of people being released from prison. The funds are sorely needed because the number of people being released from prison is greater than usual due to the early release of prisoners during the pandemic.
