Years of pro bono representation by several Am Law 100 firms have led to exonerations and releases for wrongly convicted and unfairly sentenced clients. While the work has required a years-long commitment for the Big Law teams, the wins come just days before Thanksgiving.
Steptoe & Johnson attorneys have secured freedom for David Gordon, from Maryland's Western Correctional Institution. Foley & Lardner recently secured Christopher M.'s release from California State Prison, and Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner helped convince a judge to overturn the 1979 triple murder conviction of 62-year-old Missouri inmate Kevin Strickland.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.
