This page has long editorialized in favor of stricter gun control legislation on a national level, usually after a deadly gun spree in a super market or shopping mall or office building and particularly after a school shooting. Alas, nothing changes.

The most recent gun nightmare was allegedly committed by a 15-year-old boy, Ethan Crumbley, at Oxford High School in suburban Detroit. He is accused of killing four schoolmates and wounding a teacher and six fellow students. He is charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of terrorism, an act against the community, as well as multiple counts of assault with intent to murder and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
