It’s premature to say whether S-3691 signed into law this week by Gov. Phil Murphy providing financial assistance to renters hardest hit by the pandemic will make a dent in the anticipated tsunami of landlord-tenant eviction cases expected to hit the courts later this year.

But the judiciary is at least hoping that some pending eviction cases will get resolved with the new funds.
