At the front desk, nearby employees and guests who heard Robbins' comments about jumping from a window were laughing, and when the guards came to his room, he had unpacked his belongings and was relaxing and watching television, Goetz said.

A professional poker player is suing the Borgata hotel and casino in Atlantic City after his jokes about jumping from a window were treated as threats of suicide.
While Atlantic City casinos are often sued for negligence, the case will provide a test of whether a plaintiff can successfully recover from a commercial establishment for being overly vigilant about its patrons’ safety.
