Capehart Scatchard in Mount Laurel  announced that managing partner Mary Ellen Rose was appointed to the executive committee of the recently formed Rutgers Law Alumnae Network, which is intended to bring alumnae and current female students from both Rutgers Law Camden and Rutgers Law Newark together to network and support each other. The committee is made up of 22 alumnae and is co-chaired by Patti Santelle and Debra Rosen from Rutgers Law Camden, and Maritza Rodriguez and Joy Tolliver from Rutgers Law Newark. Rose, a lifelong resident of New Jersey, focuses her practice on commercial and business law, transportation, and franchise law. She received her undergraduate degree from West Virginia University and her law degree from Rutgers Law School in Camden. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Stark & Stark’s Mariani Honored as Professional Lawyer of the Year Denise Mariani

The Mercer County Bar Association named Stark & Stark partner Denise Mariani its 2020 “Professional Lawyer of the Year Award” recipient. Mariani accepted the award at the MCBA’s virtual meeting on Nov. 10, 2020. As chair of her firm’s nursing home negligence litigation group in Lawrenceville, Mariani represents facility residents and their families. She has been a member of the Mercer County Bar Association for more than 25 years, serving as president in 2009 after many years as a trustee, officer and chair of the Community Projects Committee. She previously wont the MCBA’s “Young Lawyer of the Year Award” in 2003 and served on the Mercer County Bar Foundation board. “The Mercer County Bar Association has been near and dear to my heart since my very first membership meeting as a law clerk in 1992,” said Mariani, in a statement. “It was always clear to me that professionalism defines the members of this organization, so to receive this award is an enormous honor to me. I am proud to be a part of this association and couldn’t be more grateful to accept this award.” The professional lawyer of the year awards are presented in cooperation with county bar associations under the auspices of the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law. Stark & Stark managing partner Michael G.
