A Bergen County jury awarded $24.3 million to a group of neurosurgeons who sued over the revocation of their staff privileges by Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.

The 11 surgeons of North Jersey Brain & Spine Center claimed in their suit that Valley Hospital revoked their clinical privileges in December 2015 because they also practiced at nearby rival hospital Hackensack University Medical Center. The doctors claimed Valley Hospital terminated them based on the results of a study that was rigged under orders of senior executives at Valley.
