Exercising his prerogative as Suffolk’s new administrative judge, Justice Alan D. Oshrin applied the brakes to creation of a separate Supreme Court part for commercial litigation, saying he needed to assess for himself whether Suffolk generates enough of those cases to justify the cost.

At the same time, Justice Oshrin is testing the concept of an integrated domestic violence court, and expects approval for it from the Office of Court Administration at any moment, with hopes of opening it by July 1.
