Attorneys well-versed in the legal and policy nuances of modern technology are in high demand, in no small part because there are so few of them. But a growing number of law schools are aiming to prepare tomorrow’s lawyers for future technology challenges.
Among those schools is Cornell Law, which in Spring 2018 will offer a “Program in Information and Technology Law” from its Roosevelt Island Campus in New York City, which opens in May 2017. The semester-long program for JD students focuses on legal issues surrounding modern technology, cybersecurity and online privacy, and the constitutional and regulatory implications of emerging technologies and big data.
