A disbarred attorney facing a court date this week in Nassau County for grand larceny was formally charged Monday with new crimes stemming from an alleged theft of more than $85,000 from a client in an unrelated case.

Janice Jessup, 68, was released on her own recognizance Monday by Nassau County District Court Judge Paul Meli after being charged with second-degree larceny, second-degree possession of a forged instrument and first-degree falsification of business records. All are felonies.
