Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has nearly as much money in his campaign fund—3 1/2 years before the next election—as his unsuccessful Republican opponent spent against him last year.

Reports by the Schneiderman 2018 campaign with the state Board of Elections showed the Democrat with $2.4 million on hand as of July 15. He raised just over $2 million since the last off-election-year filing required by the Board of Elections, on Jan. 15.
