A Nassau County prosecutor sought to convince an appellate panel that a lower court judge was wrong when he ruled that Jesse Friedman was entitled to “every single document”—including complete grand jury records—bearing on Friedman’s conviction 27 years ago for sexual abuse.

The district attorney’s office is challenging Supreme Court Justice F. Dana Winslow’s (See Profile) ruling under the Freedom of Information Law (NYLJ, Aug. 23, 2013), saying it was arbitrary and breached law barring disclosures of confidential sources and the names of sex crime victims.
