An Appellate Division, Second Department, panel, heard arguments Tuesday in Weiss v. Teachout, a challenge to the gubernatorial candidacy of Fordham law professor Zephyr Teachout, who is opposing Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the Sept. 9 Democratic primary.

Martin E. Connor (above left), representing plaintiffs Harris Weiss and Austin Sternlicht, who are listed online as interns for the Cuomo campaign, insists that Teachout does not meet the five-year constitutional residency requirement. Lawrence A. Mandelker (above right), a partner at Kantor, Davidoff, Mandelker, Twomey, Gallanty & Olenick, argued for Teachout.

The appellate panel included Justices Peter Skelos (below), Ruth Balkin, Plummer Lott and Hector LaSalle. It is expected to rule later this week.
