The application deadline for judgeships for the Housing Part of New York City Civil Court has been extended to Sept. 30.
Judges are appointed to five-year terms and are paid $146,900 a year. They must have been admitted to the New York state bar for at least five years, two of which must have been in active practice.
Those interested in a position beginning in 2015 should submit their application to the office of Fern Fisher, Chief Administrative Judge of the Civil Court of the City of New York, 111 Centre St., Room 1240, New York, NY 10013.
Separately, the Housing Part’s advisory council seeks public comment for their evaluations of the reappointments of five Housing Court judges: Bruce Scheckowitz, Michelle Schreiber, Thomas Fitzpatrick, Gary Franklin Marton and Michael Pinkney. All sit in Kings County but Pinkney, who is in Queens. Comments should be sent to Fisher’s office and addressed to the Housing Advisory Council.
