Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed legislation Thursday creating 25 new Family Court judgeships, including nine to be established in New York City starting on Jan. 1, 2015.
It is unclear where the nine New York City positions, all of which will be filled by mayoral appointment, will be based. The Office of Court Administration will make the decision later, officials said.
