Less than two months before Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes is due to leave office, three prosecutors connected to two high-profile cases have been either reassigned or fired, though a Hynes spokesman said no wholesale firings are taking place as the current administration winds down.

On Friday, veteran prosecutors Joseph Alexis and Nicholas Batsidis were transferred to the Trials Division from the Rackets Division where they were planning to drop the prosecution of Samuel Kellner for allegedly paying a child to falsely accuse Baruch Lebovits, a Brooklyn cantor, of sexual abuse.
