Incumbent Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore has been designated by Democratic leaders as their candidate for this year’s election. DiFiore will seek a third term this fall as chief prosecutor. Though she received the designation at the Democrats’ nominating convention on April 24 in White Plains, other Democrats can mount a primary challenge against her by collecting petition signatures of Democratic voters.

No other Democrats have said they intend to enter a primary against DiFiore, according to her campaign spokesman, Susan Tolchan. So far no Republicans have declared their intentions to run.
