The Nassau County District Court in Hempstead was temporarily evacuated yesterday after a bomb threat disrupted proceedings for about 30 minutes. Shortly after 9 a.m., an anonymous individual called 911 with a bomb threat against the Hempstead courthouse.

By about 9:20 a.m., court officers evacuated the premises and subsequently swept it, determining the courthouse was safe, according to Nassau County court spokesman Daniel Bagnuola. The evacuation was "very orderly" and the disruption was "minimal," he said.
