Stroock & Stroock & Lavan’s 240 New York lawyers are returning today to their lower Manhattan offices at 180 Maiden Ln. after being displaced by Hurricane Sandy, said firm spokesman Jim Ponichtera. Stroock attorneys were moving from their temporary office at 601 Lexington Ave. Some attorneys also were working in the firm’s midtown space on Third Avenue.

Stroock has said 180 Maiden Ln. was “severely flooded,” and like other downtown businesses, its Verizon phone service was compromised. While its downtown office was closed, Stroock was routing calls to its Los Angeles branch, which was relaying messages. The firm’s phone service is operational now, Ponichtera said.
