During the decade that Michael Rothenberg has been at the helm of New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, the organization’s budget has quadrupled to $4 million, its staff has more than doubled to 35 and the number of firm’s recruited per year to handle pro bono cases has increased five fold to 250.
NYLPI defines its mission as advancing equality and civil rights, with a focus on health justice, disability rights and environmental justice, through community lawyering and partnerships with the private bar.
